About Mossie's Musings

Hello there

In 2016, I decided that family history was my retirement project but the power of genetic genealogy soon became my focus.  I use genetic genealogy and traditional research to break down brick walls in my own family and enjoy working with others to solve their "DNA dilemmas".

This is the place that I'm using to store materials that will help me and others in this fascinating journey.  There are so many wonderful resources out there but how to keep them organised and accessible is my constant challenge.

My hope is that this blog meets the need!

Why Mossie's Musings?

I live in Mosman on the lower North Shore of Sydney, Australia.  My maternal line arrived in the area in the mid 1880s.  My paternal line were lucky enough to move here 100 years ago. To quote my dear father, Frank, "Why do we need to go on holidays when Balmoral is at the bottom of the hill?"

And yes, I spend many hours at the beach musing.....Chris W
