MODULE 3: Purchasing NSW, VIC and QLD BDM transcripts

Purpose

If you find a NSW birth, marriage or death record listed on Ancestry, you can purchase a transcript by a direct link to Marilyn Rowan's NSW Transcription Service. I purchase transcripts this way as they cost less and you receive them quickly. The current price is $17.50 and I generally receive the transcript within three to five business days as the process is more automated.

NSW birth, marriage and death registrations

When your search for a NSW birth, marriage or death produces a result on Ancestry as shown in the first image, select View Record to see the second image. You can purchase the record by selecting Order Record. The first time, you'll see this message which will take you to the portal for NSW Transcription Service.

So the request for the transcript has been added to the cart. At this point, you can either choose to continue searching or checkout.

Checkout will take you to this screen when you will create an account or log in to your existing account to place your order.

Happy purchasing!

While we can purchase transcripts for NSW births that took place more 100 years ago, marriages that took place more than 50 years ago and deaths that occurred more than 30 years ago, later years are not available via Ancestry. This is when I purchase them on-line through NSW Transcription Service.

Purchasing Victorian BDM certificates

You can purchase downloadable, uncertified certificates online HERE. The current price is $20. You can purchase Victorian births that took place over 100 years ago, marriages that took place over 60 years ago and deaths that occurred more than 30 years ago.

Purchasing Queensland BDM certificates

You can purchase downloadable, uncertified certificate online HERE. The current price is $23.50. You can purchase Queensland births that took place more than 100 years ago, marriages took place more than 75 years ago and deaths that occurred more than 30 years ago.
